Listing Houses for Sale & Why Realtors need to Start Embracing Snapchat

 

In early 2017, both Forbes Magazine and the National Association of Realtors announced that at least 35% of new home buyers in 2016, could be identified as first-time home buyers. There is only one problem. While factors such as easy to qualify for FHA financing should mean that such buyers benefit from more buying power than ever before when it comes to U.S. houses for sale, 2016’s rise in first-time buyers also coincided with 1,8% increase in failed residential real estate sales nationwide.

 

Why Traditional Marketing of Houses for Sale Simply Doesn’t Cut it Anymore

 

While many realtors won’t like to admit it, marketing of real estate for sale in the United States has, for the most part, stagnated since the mid-1990’s. MLS real estate listings are still the main go-to for realtors looking to find houses for sale. A significant problem with an increasing number of realtor client relationships, however, subsequently lies with the fact that many new millennial buyers want more immediate access to property listings, not to mention immediate access to data pertaining to what houses for sale there are in their area.

 

How Snapchat & Social Media can Help

 

According to the National Association of Realtors, millennials (who have been brought up to communicate predominantly via social media), will make up the largest single demographic of new home buyers over the next decade. The key question for realtors, in this case, is do you actually speak the same language as your prospective buyers?

 

Unless you have been living completely "off the grid" for the first half of the 21st Century, you will probably be more than aware of how Facebook has revolutionized marketing across the board since its inception in 2004.   Since then, however, social media has evolved even further. Much more specifically, apps like Snapchat are catering more and more to the needs of constantly evolving, information on demand group of social media users.

 

Like it or not, the days of sending out bi-monthly email newsletters and updating Facebook posts just for the sake of social media marketing are over. People looking for real estate for sale in 2017, are looking for on-demand property presentation videos, images, and up to date inspection data. Thankfully, because Snapchat is the most audio-visually centered social media platform currently being used by millions of millennials in America, Snapchat itself provides realtors with a brand new (and ultimately exciting) way to market real estate for sale.

 

Using Snapchat for Phenomenal Property Exposure

 

Why Snapchat needs to be embraced by realtors is simple. Since using the platform themselves, restaurant chain Taco Bell has reported a staggering 80% rate of consumer engagement brought about through their sharing of video and similar media. This being the case, just imagine what that kind of rate of engagement and exposure could do for your future real estate sales.

 

Of course, Snapchat isn’t being as widely used as it could be to advertise US real estate for sale at present. The app does, however, have huge potential to revolutionize real estate marketing as we know it. The only question, in this case, is are you using it yet?

I use Snapchat with my husband, mom and daughters for fun. I'm not sure how I would use it for real estate.  I certainly know it's apps like this that are becoming popular and the agents that do use it will have an advantage.

I haven't tried Snapchat, but today I signed up on Instagram. My younger co-workers use Snapchat, so I'm sure this will be added to my list of apps.

It is a great idea to use Snapchat for real Estate Marketing, now using social medias and real estate web design is more important than ever.
