HOORAY! For those of you that either know me or have been reading my posts, you know that I recently broke my hip while on an out of town business trip to New Orleans. Three weeks ago last Sunday, to be exact. I was told to expect to be using a walker for 6 weeks (yes, I teared up over that one!) BUT today I graduated to crutches. ***cheers*** And I'm pretty sure I'll be using just a cane maybe by the end of the week. We'll see???
And what do I attribute my faster than expected recovery to? YOU! Thank you all for your prayers and words of encouragement.
Heartfelt gratitude,
Ruth

Ruth ~ I know you are glad to be rid of the walker, but crutches are difficult and a pain in the a--. I hope you graduate quickly to a cane. My prayers are with you.
I'm with Dawn on this one. Glad to hear you've retired the walker, but crutches are, well, like Dawn said!
My theory about crutches is that they're a lot of fun when they're not yours!
Keep working. You'll be jitterbugging (or whatever it is that people do to prove they've completely recovered from a broken hip) before you know it!!!
Well, Ruth, YOU are an outstanding individual in every way! I'm not surprised, but, I am impressed that you are recovering so well! And you are continually in my prayers....Jim
And they let you have crutches? I hope no one ticks you off, lol.
I'm very happy you are on your way to being back to yourself :)
Crutches didn't last for long... I'm now using the cane, AND was given the encouragement to start walking short distances today! Yes, I will be visiting soon, Dawn, and jitterbugging before long, Craig!
Jim, thanks for the continued encouragement.
Jackie, I actually was finding the crutches had a multitude of good uses. Reaching high things, stopping the grandchildren from running, and getting Jim's attention when he was pretending he didn't hear! ha-ha!
Ruth, I'm so glad to hear you are recovering so quickly. Soon you'll be able to toss that cane aside and kick up your heels!
Congratulations on your speedy recovery, Ruth! Although I'm sure to you it has felt like ages!!
Congrats Ruth! As someone who has used crutches quite a few times I know not only are they cumbersome but they can be painful too. So glad to hear you are on the mend!
Gary, Yes! VERY soon!
Kerry, In deed it has.
Debra, "quite a few times"? And I'm complaining about once?? I'll suck it up.
Yes unfortunately-I broke my ankle, then broke my foot, then had a very severe sprain to my foot AND ankle and then had a broken toe and top of my foot. I HATE CRUTCHES.
I can certainly see why, Debra! Yikes!
